Software I use, gadgets I love, and other things I recommend.

I get asked a lot about the things I use to build software, stay productive, or buy to fool myself into thinking I’m being productive when I’m really just procrastinating. Here’s a big list of all of my favorite stuff.

Workstation

  • HP Intel i5-6300U, 8GB RAM

    I’m currently using an Intel-based machine with 8GB of RAM and Intel HD Graphics 520. It’s an older setup, but it still handles my development workflow surprisingly well, from coding and web development to the various projects and workloads I put it through.

  • 24.1 Monitor, e-IPS, WUXGA

    I’m using a 24.1” e-IPS monitor with a W-LED backlight and a 1920 × 1200 WUXGA resolution. The 16:10 aspect ratio gives me a little extra vertical space, which makes a noticeable difference when I’m coding and working with multiple windows.

  • Zong 4G WiFi Device

    I use a Zong 4G WiFi device for a reliable internet connection when I’m working away from a fixed broadband connection. It gives me the flexibility to stay connected and continue working on my projects wherever I need to.

  • Bluedio Headphones, 57mm Drivers

    I use Bluedio headphones with large 57mm dynamic drivers and Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity. The long battery life gives me around 30 to 40 hours of playback, making them great for coding, music, and long work sessions.

  • Solar Battery Inverter, 24-Hour Power

    I use a solar battery inverter to keep essential devices powered throughout the day and night. It provides backup electricity during outages and helps keep my workspace running reliably for 24 hours.

  • Cursor, AI-Powered Code Editor

    I use Cursor as my primary development tool for writing, refactoring, and debugging code. Its AI-powered features help me move faster while building applications, exploring ideas, and working across larger codebases.

  • MySQL 9.7 Command Line Client

    I use the MySQL Command Line Client to manage databases, run SQL queries, and work directly with application data. It keeps my database workflow simple, fast, and efficient while developing and testing applications.

  • TablePlus, Database Management

    I use TablePlus to manage databases, browse tables, and run SQL queries with a clean and intuitive interface. It makes working with MySQL and other databases faster and more convenient during development.

  • Claude, AI Development Assistant

    I use Claude as an AI development assistant for writing, reviewing, and improving code. It helps me understand complex problems, refactor code, and explore better approaches while building applications.

Design

  • Canva, Design & Creative Tool

    I use Canva to create graphics, presentations, social media designs, and other visual content. Its simple workflow helps me quickly turn ideas into polished designs without slowing down my development and content workflow.

Productivity

  • Microsoft Excel, Data & Productivity

    I use Microsoft Excel to organize data, create spreadsheets, analyze information, and manage calculations. It’s a practical tool for handling structured data, planning, and everyday productivity.

  • Reminder Mobile App, Tasks & Productivity

    I use reminders to keep track of important tasks, deadlines, and things I need to get done. They help me stay organized, manage my time, and make sure important tasks don’t slip through the cracks.
